Three Poppies

I love poppies.  After finishing my freesia painting, I debated about what flower to paint next.  I have always loved poppies and they are very popular in artwork today.  I had a happy accident with the texture of this piece.  I had started painting tulips and decided I didn't like it.  I had scraped some of the texture away before adding another coat of textural gesso.  I still let some of the green show through, so when I added the yellows and browns, you could still see some of the green under painting/oops coat below.  I like the way it looks so much that I think I will use it again.
