I have been eager to paint a baseball for awhile.  Baseball is a game I have always loved.  My mom has always had an interest in the Pittsburgh Pirates and I think some of her love for the sport has been passed down to me. Of course, I have admired the life of Roberto Clemente since I had to write a speech about him when I was a freshman in high school.  Now, my brother-in-law works for the Pirates and I have the opportunity to frequent games.  My husband as an avid sports fan, so I am also somewhat obligated to like baseball.  He is super knowledgeable about players, past and present, but he roots for the Detroit Tigers.  I try not to hold it against him.
